EvigJoi — Joyful Oncology Institute — Course Terms & Learner Agreement
Effective Date: April 15 2026
Welcome to EvigJoi — Joyful Oncology Institute (“EvigJoi,” “we,” or “the Institute”). By registering for or accessing our courses — online, blended, or in-person — you (“Student” or “User”) agree to the following Course Terms & Learner Agreement. Please read carefully before enrolling.
Trademark: The name EvigJoi, the EvigJoi — Joyful Oncology Institute brand, and associated logos and visual identity are trademarks of EvigJoi — Joyful Oncology Institute. Trademark registration is in process in both the United States and the European Union. Unauthorized use of the EvigJoi name, logo, or brand identity is strictly prohibited and may constitute trademark infringement under applicable law.
1. Purpose of Training
EvigJoi courses are designed for certified, licensed, or soon-to-be-certified massage therapists seeking evidence-informed education in oncology massage. Our programs help students deepen their knowledge and learn to safely support clients affected by cancer, including those currently in treatment and those living as long-term thrivers.
Courses are not intended for redistribution, resale, or use by competing educational organizations.
2. Access and Use of Course Materials
All course materials — including videos, PDFs, manuals, quizzes, images, and written content (“Materials”) — are the property of EvigJoi.
Permitted use: Materials are provided solely for your personal educational use in connection with the course for which you are registered.
Not permitted: Students may not copy, share, sell, distribute, or reproduce Materials, in whole or in part, without written permission from EvigJoi.
Online and blended courses: Access to digital content is granted immediately upon payment. Students retain full access to course materials for up to one year from the date of course completion.
Approximately two weeks before your access period ends, you will receive an email notification giving you time for a final review of the full course content.
Upon expiry of the one-year access period, students automatically receive their personal Legacy Library — a curated collection of recap materials including a recap video, key course texts, and all downloads and booklets in print-ready format. Legacy Library content is yours to keep permanently with no expiry date.
Some courses include Legacy Library content from the moment of enrollment. Where this applies it will be clearly indicated on the course page. Examples include standalone recap and research update content designed to support your ongoing learning from day one.
3. Eligibility
To enroll in EvigJoi courses, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be a qualified professional or actively in training in massage therapy, with demonstrable recent practice. Students who have not practiced clinically within the past 12 months are encouraged to refresh their foundational skills before enrolling. EvigJoi reserves the right to assess readiness on a case by case basis.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of anatomy, physiology, and pathology. Students should have hands-on practical skills in Swedish massage or a comparable touch-based modality, as EvigJoi courses build directly on these foundations. If you are unsure whether your training meets these requirements, please contact us before enrolling.
- Be able to read and understand English. All videos include English subtitles, and Danish subtitles may be provided where available.
- Maintain appropriate professional liability coverage when practicing clinical skills in a professional setting.
- Be of legal age to enroll in your country of residence.
Joining at the right level: Course levels are not universal across providers. A course titled “intro” or “foundation” at another school may or may not be equivalent to our Level 1 — and the same applies in reverse. Before enrolling in Level 2 or any advanced course based on prior training from another provider, please contact us so we can assess where you best fit on the EvigJoi pathway. We will always work with you to find the right entry point rather than asking you to repeat learning you have already done. A bridge recap module may be required before joining at an advanced level regardless of prior training, to ensure all students share the same foundational understanding before progressing together.
Advanced course prerequisites: Students enrolling in Level 2 or any Level 3 advanced course must provide proof of equivalent prior training. EvigJoi Level 1 automatically satisfies this requirement. Students who have completed oncology massage training through another provider must demonstrate that their training meets a comparable standard. Approved equivalent programs include those recognized by S4OM or similar professional bodies. If your prior training is not listed as an approved equivalent, please contact us before enrolling so we can assess your background on a case by case basis.
For courses requiring lymphatic knowledge: Some Level 3 courses include advanced lymphatic content and require students to hold a recognized lymphatic therapy qualification. Accepted credentials include Certified Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapist (CMLDT), Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), or documented training in the Vodder method or equivalent standard. We recognize that lymphatic training standards vary significantly across Europe and the US and that not all available courses meet a clinical standard. If you are unsure whether your lymphatic training qualifies, please contact us before enrolling. We take this requirement seriously to ensure the safety of both students and clients.
Accessibility: We strive to make our courses as accessible as possible. At this time we do not provide live sign-language interpreters, reading-aloud services, or real-time translation. Students who require accommodations are encouraged to contact us prior to registration so we can explore what support may be available. We cannot guarantee that all needs can be met but we will always do our best.
4. Course Access and Certificates
Online and blended courses: Access is granted immediately upon payment. Once access to online course materials has been provided, the course becomes non-refundable. Please refer to Section 5 for full refund and cancellation details.
In-person courses: Some in-person courses require pre-class online work to be completed before attending. All pre-class materials must be completed at least 14 days before the in-person session so instructors can review your work ahead of time. Requests for deadline extensions are considered on a case by case basis — please contact us as early as possible if you anticipate difficulty meeting this deadline.
Certificates: Students who complete all course requirements — including quizzes, pre-class work, and in-person attendance where applicable — will receive a Certificate of Completion.
We believe your achievement deserves to be celebrated properly. EvigJoi certificates are designed to be something you are proud to display. Each certificate is produced on high-quality paper, personally signed, and mailed to you after course completion. A digital version is also provided via email for your records and professional profiles.
Credit recognition: Continuing education credit recognition varies by country and professional body. EvigJoi is actively working toward recognition with NCBTMB and S4OM in the United States, and with relevant accrediting bodies within the EU. Until formal recognition is confirmed, EvigJoi cannot guarantee that course certificates will be accepted by your local licensing or regulatory board.
Students are responsible for confirming whether EvigJoi courses meet the requirements of their own professional body before enrolling. We are happy to provide documentation to support recognition applications where possible.
5. Refunds, Cancellations, and Exceptions
Standard refund policy: Tuition for online courses is non-refundable once access to course materials has been granted. For in-person courses, refunds follow the policy outlined on the specific course registration page. Please review the refund terms for your course carefully before completing enrollment.
EU consumer rights: If you are enrolling from within the European Union, you may have additional rights under EU consumer protection law, including a 14-day cooling off period for digital purchases where access has not yet been granted. By enrolling and requesting immediate access to online course materials, you acknowledge that your right of withdrawal may be waived once access is provided. If you have questions about your rights as an EU consumer, please contact us before enrolling.
Emergency exceptions: In cases of verified medical emergencies, death in the immediate family, or severe weather preventing travel, tuition may be transferred one time to a future course at the instructor’s discretion.
Please be aware that this may require:
- Attending the equivalent course in a different country, or
- Waiting up to one to two years until the course is offered again in your region
Documentation is required for all exception requests. Approval depends on scheduling and upcoming course availability. Exception requests must be submitted as soon as possible and no later than the course start date.
If EvigJoi is unable to offer an equivalent course within a reasonable travel distance within two years of the original course date, a full refund will be issued.
Blended and mixed format courses: For courses that combine online pre-class work with an in-person session, the following applies:
- If you have completed the online pre-class component but are unable to attend the in-person session due to a personal emergency, the cost of the in-person portion may be refunded or credited toward a future course at our discretion. The online component is non-refundable once access has been granted.
- If EvigJoi cancels or postpones the in-person session due to insufficient enrollment or circumstances beyond our control, students who have completed the online pre-class work will receive a full refund of the in-person portion. The online pre-class access will remain available for the standard access period.
Refund calculations: Refunds for partial course attendance or cancellation of in-person sessions are calculated based on the proportional cost per continuing education unit or class hour. The refund amount reflects the portion of the course that was not delivered or attended.
Please note that refund amounts may vary depending on location, local pricing, and the rate at which you enrolled. Students who enrolled at an early bird or promotional rate will receive a refund calculated against their actual amount paid rather than the full course price. All refund calculations are made transparently and will be communicated to the student in writing before processing.
6. Technical Requirements (Online / Blended Courses)
To ensure a smooth learning experience, students should have the following before their course begins:
- Device: A laptop or desktop computer is recommended. Tablets may limit functionality on some course elements.
- Internet: A stable connection capable of streaming video without interruption.
- Browser: An updated version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. Internet Explorer is not supported.
- Audio and video: Working speakers or headphones are required. A webcam and microphone are needed for any live or interactive elements.
- Software: Ability to open and view PDFs, stream videos, and engage with interactive course content.
- Learning platform: All online and blended courses are hosted on LearnDash. Students will receive instructions for setting up their account upon enrollment. Please set up your account and confirm access to course materials as soon as possible after enrolling and before the course begins.
Technical support: If you experience difficulties accessing course materials, please contact us promptly so we can resolve any issues before your course start date. We cannot be held responsible for technical issues arising from a student’s own device or internet connection.
Pre-class materials: For courses with an in-person component, all pre-class work must be completed at least 14 days before the in-person session start date. Please do not leave this to the last minute — instructors review student work ahead of time and late submissions affect the learning experience for everyone.
7. Contact and Support
Students may contact the Institute via email at [email protected] or through the support form on our website.
We aim to respond to all inquiries within 1 to 4 business days. If you have not received a response within this timeframe please check your spam folder before following up.
8. Liability and Indemnification
By participating in EvigJoi courses, the student acknowledges and agrees that EvigJoi, its staff, contractors, and partners are not liable for:
- Personal injury, property damage, or other claims arising from participation in online or in-person courses
- Travel costs, lodging expenses, or losses related to travel disruptions or cancellations
- Damage to personal property at course venues or facilities
- Any outcomes resulting from the application of course content in a student’s professional practice
Students agree to indemnify and hold EvigJoi harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from their participation in our programs.
Students are responsible for arranging their own travel, accommodations, and personal property protection. EvigJoi strongly recommends that international students obtain appropriate travel insurance before attending in-person courses.
Please note that students enrolling from within the European Union may have statutory rights that cannot be excluded or limited by these terms. Nothing in this section is intended to override your rights under applicable EU law.
9. Intellectual Property
All course content created and developed by EvigJoi — including but not limited to videos, written materials, handouts, booklets, slide presentations, assessment materials, course structures, methodologies, and branding — is the exclusive intellectual property of EvigJoi — Joyful Oncology Institute and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property law.
Permitted use: Course materials are licensed to enrolled students for personal educational use and to support their own clinical practice only. Legacy Library materials are provided under the same terms and remain the intellectual property of EvigJoi regardless of their permanent availability to the student.
Not permitted: Students and course participants may not, without prior written consent from EvigJoi:
- Copy, reproduce, or distribute course materials in any format
- Use course content to develop, inform, or contribute to competing educational programs or curricula
- Share materials with other individuals, organizations, or educational institutions
- Record, screenshot, or capture video or audio content from the learning platform
- Use EvigJoi course structures, frameworks, or methodologies as the basis for their own teaching programs
Enforcement: EvigJoi takes intellectual property seriously and reserves the right to pursue legal action in cases of unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of course content. Students found to be in violation of these terms will have their course access revoked without refund.
Third party content: Where course materials include third party content such as research articles or referenced resources, appropriate attribution is provided. Students must respect the intellectual property rights of those sources independently.
10. Updates and Severability
EvigJoi reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify enrolled students via email before the changes take effect. Continued access to course materials following any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically to stay informed of any changes.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable under applicable law, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or removed entirely if modification is not possible. All remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
11. Acknowledgment and Consent
By registering for an EvigJoi course, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to this Course Terms and Learner Agreement in full.
Enrollment constitutes your electronic acceptance of these Terms. A confirmation email containing a copy of these Terms will be sent to your registered email address for your records.
If you are enrolling from within the European Union, your consent is recorded in accordance with GDPR requirements. You may request a copy of your consent record at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
12. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights applicable in your country of residence. Students enrolling from within the European Union retain all rights granted to them under applicable EU consumer protection law regardless of this governing law clause.
13. Language
These Terms are written in English. Where a Danish or other language translation is provided for convenience, the English version shall prevail in case of any conflict or discrepancy.
14. Privacy and data
By enrolling in an EvigJoi course you also agree to our Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, store, and use your personal data. Our Privacy Policy is available on our website at evigjoi.com. Students enrolling from within the European Union have additional rights under GDPR which are outlined in our Privacy Policy.
